Gaustabanen

  • Norway's best view - see 1/6 of Norway from the top
  • The Gaustabanen cable car takes you to the top of Gaustatoppen in 15 minutes.
  • Open all year round

The Gaustabanen cable car takes you up to Gaustatoppen, 1800 m above sea level, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of 1/6 of Norway.

We offer exciting activities all year round, and in winter free skiing is one of the main attractions. We mark a free skiing route from the top to the lower station, a unique experience outside the prepared slopes when weather conditions allow. All travel and skiing is at your own risk.

For an unforgettable day, combine the free skiing with a lunch at Gaustatoppen - an experience you will remember for a long time!

Kongeloungen (KING'S LOUNGE)

The historic Kongeloungen inside the secret facility in Gaustatoppen is open Friday and Saturday from 26.12 – 21.04.

Here we serve delicious and homemade dishes for every taste, and it is also possible to pre-book a table and menu.

A meal in Kongeloungen provides an experience of traveling back to the time when Gaustatoppen played a role in communication during the Cold War.

For more information about our food service in Kongeloungen and booking, see our website.

At the end of the tunnel at the upper station, just before you come out at Tuddalstippen, is our kiosk Provianten.

This winter, Provianten will be open, with self-service during the opening hours of the railway, with the option of both something to eat and a cup of coffee, cocoa and much more.

Welcome to stop by to refill at Provianten, on your trip.
